Katy is a medical translator with a background in mathematical modelling and public health research. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting (ITI) and joint coordinator of the ITI Western Regional Group..
Katy has been a full-time translator and proofreader since 2013, with projects including medical research articles, clinical trial documentation, press releases and patient notes.
Prior to studying translation, she received a PhD from the University of Bristol with a thesis on models for the spread and evolution of sexually transmitted infections. She also worked on research projects related to cancer informatics and biodiversity in food webs, as well as studying mathematics and computer science to Masters level.
